See what changes.
Follow the evidence.

Explore Budget decisions alongside the records that describe them: what is announced, what is costed, what remains uncertain, and where evidence does not yet connect.

Every dot opens the same record available in the accessible ledger. The space is an overview; the evidence stays inspectable in text.

How to read this atlas

01 — EVERYDAY LIFE

What could reach your day-to-day life?

Start with the atlas records grouped under household costs, work, homes, energy and travel, tax, and public services. Browse by topic or open the full everyday-life set in the 2D ledger.

EVERYDAY-LIFE TOPICS

—atlas records

WIDER CONTEXT · — MORE RECORDS

Business, cross-cutting, defence and public-finance topics stay available because they can have wider or indirect effects. Open the full atlas to include them.

Topic labels are browsing aids inferred from source titles and linked narrative; they do not establish who benefits, pays or is affected. Counts are atlas records, not unique policy totals. Each record keeps its source status, uncertainty and evidence links.

02 — HEADLINE DECISIONS

Budget at a glance

Four selected measures from the HMT scorecard. Choose one to open its record, fiscal profile and linked evidence.

HOUSEHOLD ENERGY · ENGLAND

£100 payment

Household Energy Payment

For council-tax bands A–D, alongside £100m for local authorities to target households acutely affected by rising energy bills. Delivery from January 2027.

BUS FARES · ENGLAND OUTSIDE LONDON

£2 single fare cap

Bus Fares

For one year from 1 January 2027. The scorecard says it will be funded by reprioritising DESNZ budgets.

SOCIAL & AFFORDABLE HOMES

£1.5bn further funding

Homes programme uplift

The source links this funding to around 10,000 additional homes and more than £40bn of capital investment over 10 years.

PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION

20% reduction by 2029–30

Administration budgets

Compared with a 16% reduction in Spending Review 2025 plans. The HMT row records £595m as a 2029–30 saving or receipt.

These are selected HMT Table 6.1 decision rows, not a complete Budget summary. The rows do not state legal status or an uncertainty rating; their fiscal entries and linked evidence remain separately inspectable.

04 — EVIDENCE & LIMITS

A map of what the sources say.

It keeps announcement status, costings, forecasts and interpretation in separate lanes. Missing links stay visible as review work.

A98

HMT Table 6.1 decisions, each paired with its OBR October measure record.

B—

HMT costing notes with exact or manually verified links. Other links remain unresolved.

C260

Budget narrative blocks retained as source evidence; overlapping records are not added as new policies.

D21

OOTLAR Table 1 records retain HMRC’s “no corresponding Budget report announcement” status.

Different records, different jobs

HMT 6.1 fiscal scores, HMT 6.2 financial-transaction cash flows, HMT 6.4 earlier measures and OBR forecast components are shown separately. Values are not merged into one total.

Effects have evidence boundaries

Where a source does not quantify a direct or secondary effect, the record says “not quantified in the sources reviewed.” That does not mean the effect is zero.

Distribution has limited coverage

HMT’s household analysis covers selected first-order effects. It excludes many business, regulatory, behavioural, employer-tax and supply-side channels.
